As a member of Superior HealthPlan, you can call Member Services if you have questions about your health plan. You can also call if you need help finding a doctor, scheduling an appointment, getting a new ID card or accessing benefits and services. Our staff speaks English and Spanish. If you speak another language or need an interpreter, call Member Services for help.

Behavioral Health

Many Superior members may need behavioral health services. These services refer to mental health or substance abuse (alcohol and drug) treatment. You do not need a referral from your doctor to get these services.

Superior works with Cenpatico to offer members behavioral health services. For information about these services or to schedule an appointment, call Superior 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our staff speaks English and Spanish. If you speak another language or need an interpreter, call Member Services for help.

State Fair Hearings

A Superior member can file for a state fair hearing at any time during Superior’s appeals process. This is for members who have appealed a decision by Superior to deny a service. It allows members to ask HHSC to review their case. If you are a STAR, STAR Health, STAR Kids or STAR+PLUS member and you want to file a state fair hearing, call 1-877-398-9461.

Texas Health Steps

Texas Health Steps is the Medicaid health-care program for children, teens and young adults, birth through age 20. Members enrolled in STAR, STAR+PLUS, STAR Kids, Medicaid RSA and STAR Health are eligible for this program. Texas Health Steps gives your child:

  • Free regular medical checkups starting at birth.
  • Free dental checkups starting at 6 months of age.
  • A Case Manager who can find out what services your child needs and where to get these services.
