On April 22, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release, providing an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024. Given the size of the data impacted, the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is expected to take several months. UnitedHealth Group believes this situation will impact “a substantial proportion of people in America” and is offering immediate credit monitoring and identity protection services, as well as a dedicated contact center to address questions. EVV Claims Matching Resumes April 1, 2024; Unmatched EVV Claims will Deny for Payment

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) implemented a claim matching bypass on February 1, 2024 for Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) claims with dates of service from January 1, 2024 through March 31, 2024 to be paid without a matching EVV visit.

EVV claims submitted for dates of service on or after April 1, 2024:

  • Will be required to match for EVV services to be processed for payment.
  • With mismatched claim information will be denied.

Program providers and Financial Management Services Agencies (FMSAs) are encouraged to use the HHSC EVV Best Practices to Avoid EVV Claim Mismatches (PDF) as guide to prevent EVV claim mismatches when submitting EVV claims.
