Cures Act EVV: New 5/1 Deadline to Select EVV System and Onboarding

Date: 03/30/20

Due to the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19), Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) is extending the deadline for providers to select an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system and begin the onboarding process to May 1, 2020.* This information applies to Cures Act program providers and Financial Management Services Agencies (FMSAs), who are required to use EVV by January 1, 2021.

HHS will continue to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 as it relates to EVV, and may provide further guidance.

Next Steps

By May 1, 2020, program providers and FMSAs must:

  1. Select an EVV vendor system or elect to use their EVV proprietary system.
  2. Submit the appropriate form to begin the onboarding process. Please note: The onboarding process does not have to be completed by May 1, 2020.

For instructions on how to select an EVV system and begin the onboarding process, please visit the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) EVV System Selection Resource.

Program providers and FMSAs who do not select an EVV system and begin the onboarding process by May 1, 2020 will have an EVV vendor system assigned by HHS.
