On April 22, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release, providing an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024. Given the size of the data impacted, the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is expected to take several months. UnitedHealth Group believes this situation will impact “a substantial proportion of people in America” and is offering immediate credit monitoring and identity protection services, as well as a dedicated contact center to address questions. April 27: Drug Take Back Day

Superior HealthPlan is supporting the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA's) National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. This event offers individuals a safe and easy way to discard their unused or expired prescription medications. 

In support of this initiative, Superior encourages providers to educate members on the dangers of drug misuse and over-use, as well as inform members about where to find drop-off locations to dispose of unwanted prescriptions in their area.

Please note: If members are unable to dispose of their unused or expired medications on April 27, year-round pharmaceutical disposal locations are available. To find a disposal location in your area, visit the Controlled Substance Public Disposal Locations.
