Take Care of Your Mind

Date: 03/27/24

Just like you take care of your body by eating right and exercising, it is important to take care of your mind, too. Knowing the signs of when you or a loved one might need extra support for your mental health will help.

Everyone has a day where they are feeling down. However, it might be time to seek help if you or a loved one is experiencing any of the following symptoms for two weeks or more:

  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Feeling very sad, stressed or worried
  • Changes in weight or appetite
  • Frequent irritability or mood changes
  • Loss of interest in activities you usually like

Talk to your primary care or behavioral health provider about any of these symptoms. The National Institute on Mental Health website has tips for how to talk to your provider and create a plan to manage any mental health concerns.
