Start Fresh in 2025 - Be Smoke Free!

The new year is coming up, and with it comes a great opportunity to make a new year’s resolution to quit smoking. Quitting smoking can be hard, but with the right support and plan you can have a fresh start and be a healthier you in the new year.

We’ve gathered a few tips from the American Lung Association to help you get started on your quitting journey:

  1. Have a plan. Set a quit date, and stick to it.
  2. Remove all cigarettes, ash trays or lighters from your home.
  3. Quit – don’t switch. If you smoke tobacco, don’t switch to e-cigarettes or vapes to try to stop smoking. 
  4. Manage your stress. Most people smoke to manage stress or negative emotions.
  5. Ask your friends or family for their support. Let them know you are trying to quit smoking and have them help you keep yourself accountable.
  6. If you’ve tried to quit before, don’t get discouraged. Think about what worked well for you the last time and what you should change in your plans for this time.
