Prenatal Care Tips Every Mom Should Know
Date: 10/02/25
Taking care of yourself during your pregnancy is one of the best ways to ensure your baby is healthy during and after pregnancy. We’ve gathered a few tips to help you feel confident during your pregnancy and keep your body and baby healthy.
- Make an appointment with your OB/GYN as soon as you know you are pregnant. You will have prenatal appointments throughout your pregnancy, but don’t skip any of them. They are all important.
- Avoid smoking and alcohol. If you have friends or family members who smoke or vape, ask them not to do it around you.
- Take your vitamins and supplements. Prenatal vitamins like folic acid help your baby grow. Talk to your doctor about what vitamins and supplements you may need during your pregnancy.
- Eating healthy foods is important now more than ever. Although you are “eating for two”, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need to eat twice as much. You may just need to eat food with more nutrients to support the health of you and your baby.
- Drink plenty of water. Your body needs even more water during pregnancy to support your baby’s growth and stay hydrated. Staying hydrated can also help with swelling that happens to your body during pregnancy and prevent UTIs and constipation.
- Stay active. Low impact exercises like walking or swimming are great forms of activity for pregnant women.
