Effective 11/1/25: Modifiers Added to LTSS Authorizations

Superior HealthPlan would like to notify providers of an important update regarding Long-term Service and Supports (LTSS) authorizations.

All LTSS authorizations created on or after November 1, 2025, will have modifiers explicitly listed on the authorization notification for STAR Kids and STAR+PLUS members. Modifiers have been built into the authorizations and will be more visible on these notifications.

Previously, detailed information was provided on the authorization notification to determine which modifiers needed to be used for claim submission. This information will still be available on the notification. As a reminder, it is important to ensure when submitting claims, providers bill using the correct modifiers in the correct order to avoid any delays in processing.
