LARC Buyback Program

Superior HealthPlan would like to inform providers of the Long-acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) products abandoned unit buyback program. Manufacturers offer abandoned unit return programs allowing prescribers to return an abandoned LARC product with an abandoned unit return form. Details have been updated and are available on the Texas Vendor Drug Program (VDP) website.

The updated Organon Abandoned Unit Return Form (PDF), along with other LARC-related manufacturer forms, are available on the VDP Forms webpage.

LARC products are only available through certain specialty pharmacies working with LARC manufacturers. Providers who prescribe and obtain LARC products through the specialty pharmacies will be able to return unused and unopened LARC products to the manufacturer's third-party processor. Prescribing providers may continue to obtain LARC products through the existing buy-and-bill process.
