DME Attestation Requirement for Ordering Physicians
Date: 11/14/25
Superior HealthPlan would like to remind providers that Durable Medical Equipment (DME) claims may be affected if the ordering physician is not attested with Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP).
Superior conducted outreach in January 2025, to help our DME providers avoid potential claims issues. Currently, some claims are hitting encounter edits because the ordering physician’s NPI is not attested with TMHP. These claims are not being denied at this time, so no resubmission is required. However, please note:
- To avoid potential claim denials, please ensure that all ordering physicians are properly attested with TMHP before submitting DME orders.
- If the NPI is not corrected, claims may be denied in the future.
For more information, please review the following Texas Health Care Association notice: Medicaid claims must contain the NPI of the ordering, prescribing, or referring physician or other professional.
