Statewide Survey on Disability Needs
Date: 05/26/26
The Texas State Independent Living Council (Texas SILC), in collaboration with the Governor’s Committee for People with Disabilities (GCPD), launched a statewide survey to better understand the priorities, barriers, and support needs of Texans with disabilities.
People with disabilities, as well as families and caregivers, are encouraged to participate to help community partners and decision-makers better align policies and resources with lived experience.
Take the survey: The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is open through July 15th. It is written in plain language, designed to be accessible, and includes multiple-choice options. All responses are anonymous.
Survey results will be shared on the Texas SILC website https://txsilc.org/ and discussed in public meetings (upcoming meeting details can be found on the website). These discussions will provide additional opportunities for public input to help inform priorities.
Feedback from this survey will directly support the development of the State Plan for Independent Living, a federally required plan that guides how independent living services are coordinated and supported statewide.
