HHSC UPDATE: Change to Title XIX (Medicaid) Home Health Services Signature Requirements

Texas Health and Human Service Commission (HHSC) has announced the signature requirements for Title XIX (Medicaid) Home Health Services have recently changed. Superior HealthPlan Medicaid (STAR, STAR Health, STAR Kids, STAR+PLUS) and CHIP enrolled physicians and allowed practitioners can now sign authorizations and order covered Medicaid Home Health Services, including:

  • Skilled nursing
  • Home health aide services
  • Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and supplies
  • Adult physical and occupational therapy services

Please Note: An allowed practitioner is a Physician Assistant (PA) or an advanced practice registered nurse who is licensed as a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).
