Speech Therapy Evaluation Prior Authorization Clarification

Superior HealthPlan would like to clarify prior authorization requirements related to Speech Therapy Evaluations.

Speech Therapy Evaluation prior authorization requirements do not apply to therapy services delivered through the Texas Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) Program.

This clarification applies only to services provided through the ECI Program. All other speech therapy evaluation and treatment services remain subject to applicable Superior prior authorization requirements and medical necessity criteria.

Providers are encouraged to verify authorization requirements before rendering services outside of the ECI Program.
