Reminder: Timely Filing and Service Update for STAR+PLUS Medicare‑Medicaid Plan

As a reminder, Superior HealthPlan’s STAR+PLUS Medicare-Medicaid Plan (MMP) transitioned to Wellcare By Superior HealthPlan on January 1, 2026. Below are key operational dates for providers with remaining claims or service needs for MMP.
Timely filing and claims payment appeals
For participating providers, timely filing for MMP is 95 days from the date of service on the claim. The latest date to submit claims for services for MMP was April 5, 2026.
You have additional time (120 days from the date of the decision) to submit a claims payment appeal should you disagree with the payment determination. Please reference the Wellcare By Superior HealthPlan (Dual Align) Provider Manual located on Superior’s Training and Manuals webpage for more details.
Provider Services (call center) update
On August 1, 2026, the MMP Provider Services phone number will be deactivated. After that date, you may contact the Wellcare By Superior HealthPlan Provider Services phone number for assistance at 1-855-445-3572.
The secure provider portal and Availity payer space will remain live for completing remaining claims activities.
