2022 Provider Training: Human Trafficking

January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month and new training sessions have recently been added to the Superior website. Throughout 2022, providers now have the opportunity to attend Human Trafficking-Understand the Provider's Role.
This training will help to make medical health and behavioral health providers more aware of trafficking and where it takes place. It will discuss important resources and protocols that can be used to identify victims, provide appropriate services to victims, and help to notify the correct authorities to provide justice for the victims. The training will also aim to bring the voice of the victim to the forefront and attempt to better understand the provider’s role. This course is approved by Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) in accordance with House Bill 2059, 86th Session, 2019. Please note:
- Continuing Education (CE) Approvals for Training: (Unless otherwise stated the CE value will be 2.50 for the 2hour and 45-minute course.)
- Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # 16739, for 2.5 contact hours.
- Texas: In accordance with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, Centene’s CE Program follows the rules for the CE provider outlined by Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors (LPC), Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), and the Texas Board of Social Work Examiners (SW). It is the licensee’s responsibility to ensure the applicability of the topic for their profession and adherence to the CE requirements for their specific board.
- National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) # 6673
- American Academy of Family Physicians -Continuing Medical Education (AAFP-CME) (CME value will be 2.0)
- California Board of Registered Nursing approval may apply to other states, please check with your board.
